Background
24 year-old singer/songwriter Steve Wilson is releasing his debut solo album titled "Running To Catch."

A western Massachusetts native, Steve started playing the guitar after his family relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina.  "After high school, I lived in a few apartments with other musicians.  I remember we would record everything we played together.  I would listen in my car the next day and try and improve on it that night...those late night jam sessions helped me get where I am as a songwriter.....even though there were a LOT of noise complaints.  That's when I think I started getting serious about playing music.  I couldn't get enough of it."
The Album
After years of playing guitar and realizing his interest in songwriting, he decided to take his song ideas 'live' at different places around the area.  A couple years later, after moving to Wilmington, North Carolina, the framework for  the debut CD would be written in just under a eight months. "I needed more material for live performances, so I would lock myself in my apartment and write as much as I could for hours.  I got a chance to write, play out, write and tweak some more...until I thought I had developed a sound for myself."  The recording of the album was approached in the same manner.  Steve plays acoustic guitars and electric guitars on the record, as well as all of the vocals, backed by a rhythm section and other varying instrumentation.   "We wanted it to feel right and for it to sound like it had a completed quality, so we didn't rush anything."

Steve took these songs into recording studios in Raleigh, Philadelphia and London, England where the album was completed at Abbey Road Studios.  The ten song tracklisting features an all-star cast of players.  Scott Bricklin (guitars, piano),  Stephen Levitin (drums),  Jim Crew (organ, keys),  Matt Brandau (bass) Matt Muir (drums), and Allyn Love (pedal steel) all add to the lineup that has helped shape the eclectic groove of the album.
